Tom Wolfe Addressed the Largest Audience at Buenos Aires International Book Fair

World renowned journalist and novelist Tom Wolfe, invited by the U.S. Embassy to participate in the 34th Buenos Aires International Book Fair, addressed an audience of more than 1,000 on May 3, 2008 in the Sala Jorge Luis Borges. In a talk titled "Chronicling the U.S., a Society in Change", Mr. Wolfe focused on the role of the writer and journalist to present the truth and to realistically record the true spirit of the age. He also emphasized the openness of American society and the level of "respect" that is accorded diversity in the United States. Mr. Wolfe also spoke on "New Journalism" as part of the MALBA's Literature Program and addressed graduates of the Clarin/San Andres University Master Journalism class.
