CHARGÉ KELLY WELCOMES REGGAETON DUO WISIN & YANDEL
September 23, 2008

Chargé Thomas Kelly welcomed Reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel to Buenos Aires at Luna Park on September 23.  After the concert, Chargé Kelly took a group of Argentine children from the Fundacion Oasi in Moreno to meet with the duo.  The group talked about the importance of strenghtening networks between grassroots organizations and the community.  Wisin and Yandel are highly respected, highly driven artists in the fast-growing Reggaeton genre,  which blends  Jamaican music influences of reggae and dancehall with those of Latin America, such as salsa, merengue, latin pop, hip hop, and electronica, making this dynamic duo a household name on the music scene.   Hailing from Puerto Rico, they have put their own definitive stamp on the genre, making their music and lyrics original, fresh.   Fundación OASI (Organizacion Argentina para Sociedades Inclusivas) works with youths in fields like health, education, arts and sports, in the district of Moreno, Province of Buenos Aires.  The guests are music students of the Raices and the Youth Orchestra Projects, two of the musical workshops sponsored by the Foundation.
