Ambassador Vilma Martinez visited Ushuaia on January 23 and 24, 2012.

On January 23, Ambassador Martinez visited Museo Maritimo in Ushuaia.  She received a guided tour from Museum Director Carlos P. Vairo.  In the Art Museum of the Museo Maritimo, the Ambasador had the pleasure to meet artists Leti Rivero and Gabriel Villot whose works are currently on exhibition.

On January 24, the Ambassador presented a donation of medical supplies to the province of Tierra del Fuego to collaborate with the Health and Social Development Ministries. Medical supplies will be used in needy areas of the province.

Among donated items were wheelchairs, walkers, nebulizers and electrodes. The supplies were provided by the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Southern Command Humanitarian Assistance Program. “These medical supplies are a small contribution of the Government of the United States to the health and welfare of the Argentine people”, said Ambassador Martinez.
