AMBASSADOR WAYNE VISITS SALTA PROVINCE AND MEETS GOVERNOR URTUBEY

Ambassador Wayne completed on April 28 a one-day trip to Salta province, which included a visit with Governor Juan Manuel Urtubey. Governor Urtubey updated the Ambassador on his priorities for the province, including strengthening the educational and health systems, and infrastructure development. He also described the work done for investments promotion in the province. The two officials also discussed the province's prevention and assistance efforts in the fight against dengue, in addition to the government's work to aid residents in Tartagal following the recent avalanche there. They also mentioned ongoing efforts to fight human trafficking and domestic violence.
"I relayed to Governor Urtubey my appreciation for and commitment to our two countries' important collaboration in combating drug trafficking through the efforts of the Northern Border Task Force. I also expressed our interest in expanding areas of cooperation between the United States and Salta," Ambassador Wayne said.
