U.S. Think Tank Director Discusses Agenda for The Americas

Ambassador Wayne hosted in his residence Monday, March 30, a discussion on US-Latin American relations with Mauricio Cárdenas, the director of the Latin American Initiative at the Brookings Institution, a prestigious Washington-based think tank. Mr. Cárdenas outlined the key points of a proposal put forward by the institution for an agenda of cooperation for the Americas in the fields of energy, trade and investment, immigration and international security. The discussion was attended by a group of top Argentine journalists, who shared and exchanged their views on the state and prospects for regional relations in the context of the Obama administration and the global economic crisis.
