Ambassador Wayne Bids Farewell to Minister Taiana

As one in a series of courtesy visits to say good-bye to high level government officials, Ambassador Wayne met on May 28 with Foreign Minister Taiana. During the meeting, the Ambassador and the Foreign Minister took the opportunity to review the significant progress achieved in the last few years in the strengthening of bilateral relations.
"I thanked Foreign Minister Taiana for his support, collaboration and friendship during my tenure as ambassador to Argentina as together we have worked to strengthen and deepen bilateral relations that are constantly becoming more varied and productive. It has been a great honor for me to represent the United States of America as ambassador in such a beautiful country with such warm, talented and kind people. I take with me many good memories of Argentina’s wonderful people.” Said Ambassador.
Ambassador Wayne also highlighted Argentina’s leadership in promoting human rights and democracy in the region and beyond.
Following the meeting, Foreign Minister Taiana offered a farewell reception in honor of the Ambassador. “Buenos Aires reputation as one of the world’s most beautiful and elegant cities is well-deserved and I also had the great pleasure of knowing the wonderful landscapes of 16 provinces. I hope to return to Argentina to continue traveling around the country.” said Ambassador Wayne.
