U.S. Embassy Supports Visit of 8 Argentine Students to the United States

July 14-18, 2007

The US Embassy is supporting the visit of eight high school students to the United States to participate in an international civic education program called Project Citizen.  The Center for Civic Education, which developed the program, is convening this first International Project Citizen Showcase in Washington D.C. July 14-18th.

The Showcase will be the culmination of months of work in which each student team will have identified a public policy problem in their community, gathered information about the issue, discussed alternative solutions, proposed a solution, and provided an action plan designed to convince public authorities to implement it.  The Argentine students, working with the NGO Conciencia, chose a project on public transportation.

The students in the group are Kevin Leonardo Zeylicovich (Project Captain), Melanie Dabul, Martina Bidner, Macarena Paola Bellorini Namuch Parker, Tomás Javier Casas Mammana, Sabina Finck Villar, Delfina Díaz Iglesias, and Gina Daniela Campestre.
