Western Hemisphere Affairs Assistant Secretary Tom Shannon met on February 26 in Washington D.C. with twelve Argentine students selected by the U.S. Embassy to participate in the Youth Ambassador Program. The young ambassadors also travel to Montana to live with a host family, go to school, and engage in cultural activities. This is the second edition of the Youth Ambassador Program, an initiative of the US Embassy in Argentina, in partnership with the Fulbright Commission and Partners of the Americas. This year the numbers of students increased from five to twelve. The students come from public schools in Mendoza, San Luis, Neuquen, Jujuy, San Juan, Buenos Aires, Tucuman, Santiago del Estero, La Pampa, Tandil, Corrientes, and Santa Fe. One of the goals of the program is to increase ties of friendship between Argentina and American youths.
