Market Intelligence

The Office of Agricultural Affairs in Buenos Aires, prepared reports on a great variety of commodities, and also detailed annual one on the agricultural situation in general. These reports receive a wide distribution, and also available by Internet.

Assistance to Trade Organizations and Private Companies

The Office of Agricultural Affairs provides advice and logistical support for USDA Market Development Cooperators and Market Access Program (MAP) participants. State Departments of Agriculture, State and Regional Groups (STRGS) also receive support and assistance from the OAA. The OAA also keeps a wide assortment of directories, catalogs, marketing briefs and brochures on U.S. foods and agricultural companies. The U.S. companies are encouraged to send literature to us and we will gladly keep it for reference.

Briefing for Traders and Delegations

The OAA staff briefs visitors on subjects related to the Argentine food and agricultural market. Briefing for Trade Delegations can be scheduled at off site locations.

Support From Cooperators/Trade Promotion Groups

There are non-profit US commodity and trade associations which work to develop and service the Argentine Market. These associations are excellent sources of information for exporters.

Marketing, Counseling and Research

The OAA can provide background information on many aspects on the Argentine food and agricultural market. In addition, the OAA periodically carries out status of broad interests to the US export community (for example, market brief such as "selling US food products in Argentina" and import regulations for US foods.)

Export Credits

The Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) administers export credit guarantee programs for commercial financing of U.S. agricultural exports. The programs encourage exports to buyers in countries where credit is necessary to maintain or increase U.S. sales, but where financing may not be available without CCC guarantees.

General Sales Manager

The Export Credit Guarantee Program (GSM-102) covers credit terms up to three years. The Intermediate Export Credit Guarantee Program (GSM-103) covers longer credit terms up to 10 years.
