Ambassador Wayne holds the prestigious Santa Clara de Asis award given by the Liga de Madres de Familia to television and other media programs for contributions to social causes and education in Argentina.  The statuette was presented to television journalist Guillermo Lobo for his program TN Ciencia.  The Liga de Madres de Familia told Mr. Lobo that the award was inspired by the two-part television documentary on HIV/AIDS he did with the Press Section as part of a “TV-Coop” project.  Part I of “Vida o Sida” was filmed in the U.S. and was devoted to the science of the challenge.  Part II, devoted to the human side of the battle against the epidemic, was filmed in Haiti to show that inroads were being made against HIV/AIDS.   As a result, Mr. Lobo chose to give his award to the U.S. Embassy.  Here, Ambassador Wayne is pictured, holding the award, with Guillermo Lobo and Press Officer, Mara Tekach.
