U.S. EMBASSY DONATES BOOKS TO CHILDREN´S HOSPITAL IN SAN ISIDRO
March 27, 2008

US Embassy Cultural Attache Linda Gonzalez donated a collection of children’s books to the playroom of the San Isidro Children´s and Maternity Hospital “Dr. Carlos Arturo Gianantonio” March 27, 2008.  The hospital´s Director, Dr. Domingo Longo, thanked Ms. Gonzalez and the representatives of the Martinez Branch of the Rotary Club for their joint efforts to support education.  Dr. Longo gave Ms. Gonzalez a tour of the hospital that daily treats over 15.000 kids ages 0-17.  Both the children staying at the hospital and the outpatients who come for treatment will enjoy reading the collection of approximately 120 classic children´s books by American authors in Spanish. Dr. Gustavo Hirsch, San Isidro Secretary of Health, and a group of professionals from Oregon University who are participating in a Rotary exchange program, also attended the donation ceremony.
