Ambassador Wayne visited “El Reparo” drug treatment center November 21, where he met patients and staff and donated a clothes dryer, a treadmill, and a set of scholastic books. “I am very impressed by the commitment to recovery of so many people, both patients and staff members." – said the Ambassador.

"El Reparo" is an NGO founded in 1989 in the Buenos Aires district of San Miguel which specializes in the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. The center is headed by Elsa Gervasio and currently houses 32 patients between 12 and 50 years of age and also provides treatment to another 12 at a nearby residence for advanced patients. Ninety percent of the patients also attend the school that the center operates on the premises.

This visit demonstrates the Embassy´s ongoing interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation in matters related to prevention and treatment of drug addictions. Recently, the Ambassador had also met with members of "Mothers against Paco."
