STATEMENT BY AMBASSADOR WAYNE FOLLOWING HIS MEETING WITH FOREIGN MINISTER TAIANA

I have just come from a meeting with Jorge Taiana, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Argentina, in which we discussed recent events.  I said I would pass his message to Washington through official channels and shared with him the U.S. perspective on these events.  I also conveyed to the Foreign Minister the belief that our bilateral relationship is important to both of our governments and peoples and that we have many worthwhile activities underway which benefit Argentina and the United States.
