AMBASSADOR WAYNE VISITS THE RAILWAY FAIR AND CONGRESS

Ambassador Wayne visited on September 2 the Railway Fair and Congress in Buenos Aires.  During his visit, he met with Patricia Saunders, International Sales Manager for National Railway Equipment (NRE), headquartered in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.  NRE recently signed a partnership agreement with an Argentine firm to supply remanufactured locomotives from the U.S. and gradually, to convert local rolling stock to their newer model.  The company has developed a highly efficient propulsion system which among other environmental advantages will save nearly 40% in fuel consumption at nearly half the cost of a new model.
