AMBASSADOR INVITES 80 QUINCEAÑERAS TO MEET U.S. AND ARGENTINE ROCK BANDS

Ambassador Wayne invited U.S. band Underoath and Argentine band Infierno 18 to get together with 80 quinceañeras who were visiting the Embassy for their visa interviews before leaving for Disneyworld in Orlando. Underoath is visiting Buenos Aires on their first South American tour and is playing at El Teatrito December 16 and 17. The quinceañeras chatted excitedly with both bands over cookies and refreshments and then went to the consulate for their visa interviews. After the event was over, both bands got together and chatted about their experiences and the differences between the U.S. and the Argentine music scenes.
“I hope that while you are visiting our country you are able to talk to at least one “estadounidense” and tell them a little bit about the rich history, kind people and interesting places that can be found here in Argentina.... By sharing information about Argentina and learning more about the United States, you will contribute to a deeper understanding between our two peoples” said Ambassador Wayne.
