AMBASSADOR WAYNE HOSTS A GALA DINNER IN HONOR OF THE JURY MEMBERS OF THE PRITZKER ARCHITECTURE PRIZE
May 28, 2009

Ambassador Wayne and his wife Pamela Wayne hosted a Gala dinner on May 28 in honor of the jury members of the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize at their residence in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo. The Pritzker Architecture Price is known worldwide as the profession’s highest honor. On this occasion, the jury is in Buenos Aries to confer the 2009 award on the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor.

“It is an honor to receive in this historic building the most recognized professionals in the world’s arquitecture. Buenos Aires is the perfect city to grant the profession’s highest honor in the world.” – said Ambassador Wayne.

The Pritzker Prize was established by the Pritzker family, founders of Hyatt Hotels, in 1979. The prize is awarded each year to a living architect whose built work demonstrates a combination of those qualities of talent, vision, and commitment which have produced consistent and significant contributions to humanity and the built environment through the art of architecture.

Present at the dinner were distinguished personalities from the fields of international architecture and Argentine culture. The award ceremony will held on May 29 at the Buenos Aires City Legislature and the gala dinner will take place at the San Martin’s Palace.
