Press Office
The Embassy's Press Office works with local and foreign media, informing them about U.S. policies and society through a wide variety of services, including the distribution of press releases and other documents, the organization of news conferences and interviews, and digital video conferences.
The Press Office distributions to the print and electronic media in Argentina range from short press releases to the full text of important official documents such as policy papers and speeches. Backgrounders and summaries of U.S. views on important policy issues are also sent to media institutions on a regular basis. The Washington File, distributed to Argentine media daily by the Press Office, is a collection of stories about current U.S. government policies. On the occasion of visits by high-level U.S. officials or delegations, the Press Office organizes news conferences and provides support for the international press accompanying U.S. officials, as well as for the local and foreign press located in Argentina. Support includes the creation of media filing centers, as well as the scheduling of exclusive interviews for Argentine media with visiting U.S. officials.
The Press Office also works with the United States Department of State’s Foreign Press Centers in Washington, D.C., New York and Los Angeles. The Foreign Press Centers can provide Argentine journalists on assignment in the U.S. with a variety of services to help them report on American society, politics and culture.
