WEB SEMINAR ON JUDICIAL ADMINISTRATION
September 13, 2006

The U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires hosted a digital video conference in Spanish on “Administration of Justice” with Ms. Peggy Irving on September 13.  Ms. Irving gave a 30-minute presentation on the subject followed by a question and answer session with the audience in Argentina , composed of lawyers, judges, government officials and journalists.  The second hour of the conference was devoted to questions posed by viewers on the internet.

Peggy Irving Biography

Ms. Peggy Irving serves as chief of the Article III Judges Division within the Administrative Office of the United States Courts. She provides legal and policy advice on a broad range of legal, program and administrative issues affecting federal judges, from the time a judge is nominated to the time the judge retires from public service.
The Administrative Office of the United States Courts serves the federal judiciary in carrying out its constitutional mission to provide equal justice under law. As the central support entity for the judicial branch, the office provides a wide range services to the federal courts. The office also facilitates communications within the judiciary and with Congress, the executive branch and the public on behalf of the judiciary.
Ms. Irving is also the principal staff member on several committees of the Judicial Conference of the United States, including the Committee on Financial Disclosure, the Committee on International Judicial Relations, and the Committee on Intercircuit Assignments. Ms. Irving received a bachelor’s degree at Bates College and received a doctorate in law from the Washington College of Law.Incentive Grant (2001-2002), Ford Foundation Area Studies Fellowship (1996-98) and was a Fulbright-Hays Fellow.
