Program Helps Trafficking Victims in Brazil Rebuild Their Lives
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and its partner organizations have developed a program to give victims access to and training in health, education and psycho-social services through a help network known as Sentinela. Using qualified governmental and nongovernmental service providers, the program helps victims reintegrate into society.

Rapid Tests Reduce Malaria in Bolivia's Migrant Populations
In coordination with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Bolivia’s Ministry of Health trained local health care professionals and voluntary health care workers in malaria prevention and treatment using rapid diagnosis tests. The health care workers also learned how to identify castañeros infected with malaria before the workers return to their homes after harvests.

Civil Servant Trials Are Model for Transparency in Paraguay
In 2003, the municipality of Villarrica, Paraguay, installed a custom-made computerized income information system under the guidance of a project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to improve local governance.
