If you arrive at the consulate for any non-emergency passport service without an appointment, you will be asked to return after securing an appointment. Thank you for your cooperation with this policy, which will ensure that services are offered in a more efficient manner, with shorter wait times. Please note that failure to renew a passport in a timely manner prior to your travel is not an emergency service, and you will need an appointment to receive a new passport.
U.S. citizens can apply, renew or add extra pages to passports at the United States Embassy in Buenos Aires with an appointment. In most cases, passports will be delivered within two weeks, and extra passport pages can usually be added the same day.
If your passport has been lost or stolen, please click here to make an appointment for a replacement passport. If your passport has been stolen, and your travel is imminent, you can apply for a replacement without an appointment on any working day, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. Please plan to provide a copy of the police report and airline tickets when you arrive at the Embassy.
Appoinments are required for all regular passport services and must be made using our online scheduling system.
On September 22, we will be providing passport services in Mendoza. On October 6, we will be providing passport services in Cordoba.
