PARTICIPANTS
BAYONA, Sandra
Paraná, Entre Ríos
Ms. Bayona started her career after graduating as an English Professor in 1991. That year was her first experience in secondary education at a technical school in one of the most disadvantaged areas of the city. In the period from 1991 to 1999 she worked with adolescents and young adults in secondary schools run by the state and by private owners. She gained experience in dealing with different levels of proficiency and of interest in learning English.
BOARI, Mariana
Resistencia, Chaco
Ms. Boari is an English teacher for secondary schools but she is currently working at the English Teachers’ Training College at the Introductory Course. She is also working in two universities, a state and a private one, dealing with reading – comprehension classes at different careers. She has been teaching at this level for two years and as a secondary school teacher for six years.
CIVALERO, Maria Alejandra
Clucellas, Santa Fe
Ms. Civalero graduated as an English Professor at the English Teachers’ Training College of Almirante Brown in 1990 and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in English from the National University of Litoral in 2004. She has been teaching English as a foreign language since 1990. This vast experience is formed by ten years at a National Secondary School (CBU) in Angélica, two years at a Private National School in Santa Clara de Saguier, four months at a Technical School for adults in the same town, two years at a provincial primary school in Clucellas, five years at private institutes from kindergarten to adults, and last but not least, sixteen years at the Provincial Secondary School in Clucellas where she studied.
CORIMAYO, Claudia
Salta City, Salta
Ms. Corimayo was born in Capital Federal in 1967. She studied and graduated as a teacher of English from Lenguas Vivas Teacher Training College in Salta, Argentina. She has worked at the Binational Center in Salta, Argentina, as a teacher of children, teenagers and adults, for over 16 years. She has accumulated years of experience in English language teaching in public and private schools in the capital of Salta province.
LEGRAND, Jose Enrique
Villa María, Córdoba
Mr. Legrand started teaching at secondary schools and private institutes in 2000. There, he experienced the typical problems of lack of interest and motivation in learning English. He also understood the difficulties and the gap that exists between the English taught at schools and private institutes and the one required at university level. Besides, he had his first experience at teaching communicative English to adults (factory workers at General Motors) which came to be a totally different one from that at schools as adults are more responsible and concerned about their learning a foreign language.
LOMBARDO, Andrea
La Plata, Prov. de Buenos Aires
Ms. Lombardo is an English Translator and a Teacher of English. She obtained her degrees in 2001 and 2004 respectively. She has been teaching English ever since in different state schools, at “Lenguas Vivas” School of English and has also maintained a close contact with the University. She is trainee teacher at University of La Plata where she attends literature classes and writes papers on the subjects proposed by the head of the course and under her supervision.
MARINZULICH, Maria Sol
San Nicolás, Prov. de Buenos Aires
Ms. Marinzulich is a 26 year-old teacher of English who loves music, reading and traveling. After graduating from high school she attended classes at a local teachers´ training college, where she studied to become a teacher of English. She started tutoring students and teaching on a one to one scenario during her first year there. She started tutoring students and teaching on a one to one scenario during her first year there. She graduated from college in March 2002, and had to postpone her postgraduate studies plans because of to the economic situation. Immediately after graduating she started working at schools, mainly public schools, where she feels “work is not always easy, and there are too many situations that hinder the educational process, but it is all worth it when, at least one day, you feel you have been able to pass something on to your students.”
REYES, Ernesto
El Carmen, Jujuy
Mr. Reyes is a 40 year-old English professor of the city of El Carmen, Jujuy. He has been teaching English since the age of 19. He graduated as an English teacher in 1991. At that time, he was offered to teach at a primary school, so he had the experience of working with children aged from 5 to 12. In 1994, he has have begun teaching English at Tertiary Level, which was a challenging experience because he had to teach adults and young adults, besides it was English with Specific Purposes (ESP): Business English at Foreign Trade Career. As a result, he has achieved a vast and implausible teaching skill in my 21 year career as an English Teacher because he has had the opportunity to teach all levels and ages.
