AMBASSADOR WAYNE MEETS PRESIDENT PRO-TEMPORE OF THE SENATE JOSE PAMPURO

Ambassador Wayne met on February 4 with Senator Jose Pampuro at the Embassy. During the meeting, the officials discussed a series of parliamentary and bilateral issues. They agreed of continuing the exchange of ideas and the visits of legislators from both congresses. They also talked about the prospects for stronger bilateral relations under President Obama’s administration, and the initiatives that the Argentine Congress would debate in 2009. Ambassador Wayne expressed his continuing commitment to work closely with all levels of the Argentine government.
“I told Senator Pampuro that he can count on the U.S. Embassy’s support in developing initiatives aimed at advancing our common goals and building and strengthening democratic institutions,” the Ambassador said.
