USDA U/S VISITS ARGENTINA TO SHARE IDEAS ON NUTRITION

On March 2, PAS hosted a press conference for Eric M. Bost, U/S for Food, Nutrition and Consumer Services, of the Department of Agriculture, in which he discussed his visit to Argentina. Mr. Bost is responsible for the administration of 15 USDA nutrition assistance programs with a combined budget of over 50 billion dollars, including the Food Stamp Program, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. He is an expert on the subjects of nutrition, proper diet, education for proper eating habits and the design and management of programs to improve food access for lower income groups. He commented on his meetings with Health Minister Gines Gonzalez Garcia and his visit to Salta. He praised the quality and excellence of Salta's nutrition programs, calling them comprehensive and "among the best in the world."
