AMBASSADOR WAYNE HONORED WITH A FAREWELL RECEPTION HOSTED BY APOSTOLIC NUNCIO AND THE DIPLOMATIC CORPS

Ambassador Wayne was honored with a farewell reception hosted by Apostolic Nuncio and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Monsignor Adriano Bernardini at the Apostolic Nunciature on May 22, as he concludes his tenure as Ambassador to Argentina.
“During this time, what I enjoyed most of all was the Argentine people’s quality and warmth as well as their talent, creativity, and potential,” said Ambassador Wayne at the farewell reception hosted in his honor.
During the reception, the Ambassador received a farewell gift as a token of appreciation of his performance. The Nuncio highlighted Ambassador Wayne’s great work and performance during his almost three years as Ambassador to Argentina as well as the Ambassador’s permanent efforts to strengthen U.S.-Argentina bilateral relations.
Ambassador Wayne said it had been a great pleasure to work in Argentina with people from all sectors of society and underscored that Argentine people’s talent, creativity and potential continue to impress him. “My colleagues at the Embassy and I have found it very rewarding to help develop that marvelous potential of so many Argentines as well as to deepen relations between the United States and Argentina.” said Ambassador Wayne.
The Ambassador also noted that the important role as diplomats must be building ties between peoples and thanked his many colleague Ambassadors for having worked together with the U.S. Embassy to host two important fairs bringing together ONGs with government officials and potential donors to develop different community projects.
The Ambassador also underscored that at the center of a diplomat’s mission is the relationship between governments and said: “I am very pleased that the bilateral relationship between Argentina and the United State is good, working from a very solid foundation of cooperation in many fields, and has great momentum for becoming even better.”
To conclude, Ambassador Wayne thanked the Nuncio and his colleagues for their warm friendship and for sharing their views, experiences and valuable counsel which helped him carry out his mandate as ambassador to Argentina.”
