AMBASSADOR WAYNE MEETS WITH NIKE ARGENTINA

Ambassador Wayne visited on March 5 the facilities of one of Nike’s local manufacturing partners, MV Shoes/Suola, located in Villa Soldati, where 500 employees produce Nike footwear in Argentina. The Ambassador toured the plant and met with executives and employees. Nike Argentina’s General Manager Eduardo Mignaquy also provided the Ambassador with an overview of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, which feature “Sports for Social Change”, a soccer league program in Moreno, Province of Buenos Aires, and partnerships with UNICEF and Boca Juniors on educational programs, among others. The Ambassador praised the commitment of Nike and MV Shoes/Suola to their employees, community and youth, in particular.
Nike Argentina employs 189 people. Indirectly, Nike generates 1,500 jobs in eight contracted factories and 250 jobs in 25 retail franchises.
Ambassador Wayne also congratulated Nike for sponsoring the third annual edition of “Carrera de las Chicas”.
In commemoration of International Women’s Day, Nike Argentina will be hosting the “Carrera de las Chicas” 5K Race on Sunday, March 8 at 9.30 am, departing from Av. Figueroa Alcorta and Av. Monroe.
