CULTURAL AFFAIRS OFFICER JOHN FINN RECEIVES ARGENTINE NAFSA DELEGATION
May 11, 2009
Cultural Affairs Officer John Finn received on May 11 the delegates of Argentine universities traveling to the United States on May 23 to attend the international Education NAFSA Fair in Los Angeles.
"The interest of Argentine universities in developing new ties with U.S. institutions is impressive. Argentina is already a very important destination for U.S. students and there are many opportunities for development. Argentina’s representation at NAFSA will be significantly important for the development of the sector,” said U.S. Embassy Cultural Affairs Officer John Finn.
Cultural Affairs Officer John Finn was accompanied by Executive Director of Fundación Exportar Marcelo Elizondo and Institutional Relations Director of the University Promotion Program of the Ministry of Education Secretariat of University Policies José Landi. Both institutions sponsor the trip to promote Argentine education institutions.
NAFSA is the main professional association of international educators which promotes international education and student and academic exchange programs. The annual meeting will be held in Los Angeles to gather different education institutions and share views, discuss new perspectives and build new alliances to promote networking. NAFSA also provides participating institutions with the necessary information to remain competitive in a global higher education environment.
The Buenos Aires City Government also supports this initiative and Ministry of Economic Development representatives will attend the event jointly with several universities of Buenos Aires.
