Visit and Donation To The Moron Child Development Center

Representatives from the United States Embassy, accompanied by Morón city officials: the Athletic Director, Prof. John Chambers, the Secretary of Community Management Unit No. 3, Ms. Estela Santo, and the Director of Children and Adolescents, and representatives from the Manu Ginobili Foundation toured the first Child Development Center of the area and donated materials. The U.S. Embassy donated a large quantity of paint cans that will certainly be helpful to renew not only the Center but also some nearby community buildings. Alejandro Cassettai, representing the Manu Ginóbili Foundation, donated T-shirts, books, encyclopedias and maps to be used in sports workshops and in libraries.
The Child Development Center is a social and educational proposal of the City of Morón that seeks to promote dependable connections through strengthening family and community networks. The Center serves an area of prevention and development, covering all areas of a child’s life: physical, mental, spiritual and social. The CDI is for children between 6 and 12 years old in the neighborhoods Sarmiento Carlos Gardel and Presidente Sarmiento of El Palomar in Morón. Currently approximately 45 children come to the Center in the morning and afternoon shifts. The Center provides breakfast, lunch, workshops, games and recreation, music therapy, social circus, body expression, visual arts, and theater, as well as introduction to sports through recreational games.
