Ambassador Wayne received on May 28 at his residence Buenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri as one of the guests at the gala dinner offered in honor of the prestigious jury members of the Pritzker Architecture Prize known as the profession’s highest honor. Also present at the event were distinguished personalities from the fields of international architecture and Argentine culture.

“I thanked Mayor Mauricio Macri for his interest in supporting this important award ceremony to honor the best architect of the year and congratulated him on Buenos Aires being elected as the perfect host city to award the world’s highest honor in the field of architecture.”-- said Ambassador Wayne. 

On this occasion, the jury will confer the 2009 award on the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor at a ceremony to be held today at the City of Buenos Aires Legislature.


About The Pritzker Architecture Prize

The Pritzker Architecture Prize was established in 1979 by the Pritzker family -- founders of Hyatt Hotels. The laureate is awarded each year to honor a living architect whose built work demonstrates a combination of those qualities of talent, vision, and commitment which has produced consistent and significant contributions to humanity and the built environment through the art of architecture.
