On January 22nd Chargé D’Affaires Thomas Kelly invited a group of students from the Government of the City of Buenos Aires’ “Vacation at School” Program to Metallica’s concert at River Plate Stadium.  The students had the opportunity to meet two of the band’s members backstage before the concert.

During the brief meeting backstage the kids met drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist Kirk Hammett.  The two musicians asked the kids which songs they would like to hear during the show, signed autographs, and posed for photos with them.

Metallica held two performances at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires on January 21st and 22nd.  On January 24th they performed at the Orfeo Stadium in Cordoba.
