UNDER SECRETARY JUDITH MCHALE ANNOUNCES 2011 YOUTH AMBASSADORS PROGRAM

Under Secretary Judith McHale announced the 2011 Competition for the Youth Ambassadors Program on Agust 26 at ICANA binational center. Youth Ambassadors is designed to send public high school students from all over Latin America to the U.S. to learn about U.S. society and culture and to share their culture with people in the United States.
“This program is an important part of our commitment to strengthening relationships between the citizens of our nations, with special emphasis on youth. Alumni of this program have told us that their experience has resulted in new friendships and partnerships with people in the United States, which will serve them all well in the future,” highlighted Under Secretary McHale.
In a three week cultural exchange and leadership program that also focuses on youth citizen diplomacy and service and volunteerism, the Youth Ambassadors program offers students new international opportunities and experiences to broaden their knowledge of the U.S.
