DISTINGUISHED U.S. HIV/AIDS SPECIALIST VISITS ARGENTINA

Dr. Peter Leone, Associate Professor of Medicine and Adjunct Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina, lectured on "Bridging the Gap: Program for Detection of Acute Infectious Diseases and Opt Out Strategy for HIV Testing in North Carolina,” November 28, at the University of Buenos Aires’ School of Medicine.  Approximately 100 doctors, lab specialists, medical students and social workers attended the forum organized by the U.S. Embassy and the Huesped Foundation in order to commemorate World AIDS Day. (December 1). During his visit to Buenos Aires, Dr. Leone also accompanied Ambassador Wayne on his visit to a home for children with HIV/AIDS in San Isidro.
