AMBASSADOR WAYNE MEETS LEGENDARY AMERICAN ROCK BAND KISS
April 5, 2009
Ambassador Wayne met with famed rock band KISS just before the American band’s concert in Buenos Aires, April 5, to close the Quilmes Rock Festival. The band, which was formed in New York City in 1972, has been prominent since the mid-1970s for its elaborate live performances, and has won 24 gold albums over the years. Worldwide sales have exceeded 85 million albums.
Ambassador Wayne chatted with the group about the many social activities led by the U.S. Embassy in Argentina. He also introduced KISS to a group of young Argentine music students, who were thrilled to meet these famed, world renowned musicians.
“It was a pleasure to meet this legendary American rock band, which has won such enormous worldwide popularity since its heyday in the 1970’s. The band members, who are great ambassadors of American music, showed real interest in the Embassy’s activities with Argentine youth and enjoyed meeting the youngsters we had brought along with us,” said Ambassador Wayne.
