American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee

Ambassador Vilma Martinez met on March 15 with members of the Board of Directors of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee to discuss the community works undertaken by the organization.
"The work of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee is an excellent example of the important work private citizens undertake to address societal needs across borders," said Ambassador Martinez.
The Joint Distribution Committee first partnered with the Argentine Jewish community at the end of World War Two, when the organization assisted in the resettlement of Jewish refugees from Europe. Currently collaborating with many Argentine Jewish Community organizations in the operation of 56 social assistance centers, seeing to the needs of infants, adolescents, and the elderly while also providing job training and career counseling for adults, the Joint Distribution Committee's activities have an enormous impact on the lives of thousands of beneficiaries.
The work of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee had a huge impact in the lives of thousands of beneficiaries. The Ambassador recognized the valuable work of the organization stating: "The Joint Distribution Committee's coordination with local organizations in assisting at-risk youth, promoting small business growth and job training, and caring for the young and old is invaluable."
