Cultural Attaché Neal Murata met with a group of 19 Argentine students who will be participating in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2011, in Los Angeles, California from May 8-13. The group, composed of youngsters from the provinces of Buenos Aires, Chaco, Formosa, Entre Ríos, Jujuy, Río Negro, Santa Cruz, and Santa Fe, was accompanied by the teachers who acted as counselors for each of the projects they will be presenting at the Science Fair and by Mr. Horacio Tignanelli from the National Ministry of Education and Ms. Mariana Iribarne from Intel.

The Intel Science Fair will be an intensive cultural experience for this group of young Argentines, where they will have the opportunity to interact with 1600 other students from 50 countries, meet Nobel laureates, attend conferences and presentations, and participate in a competition with over USD 2 million in prizes each year.

Cultural Attaché Neal Murata congratulated the youngsters on their hard work and for having been selected to represent their country at such an important international event.  He also praised Intel and the National Ministry of Education for sponsoring the students’ participation in the Fair, and expressed that the Embassy was proud to help sponsor the students’ trip.
