"The cooperation between our two space agencies, NASA and CONAE, as well as INVAP, highlights the advances of space technology in Argentina," said James Perez, the U.S. Embassy's Counselor for Science and Technology, as he was visiting INVAP's satellite assembly facilities in Bariloche.  INVAP is currently building a satellite to be used in the joint SAC-D/Aquarius project.  SAC-D/Aquarius will use a U.S. DELTA II space launch vehicle to place the satellite into orbit in May 2010, in order to measure the salinity of the southern seas.  The Aquarius project represents an investment of USD 200 million.
