SARMIENTO-MANN SCHOLARSHIPS AT ICANA BRING ENGLISH TO TALENTED CHILDREN OF LITTLE MEANS

Ambassador Wayne visited ICANA (the Argentine-North American Cultural Institute) in Buenos Aires February 21, where he presented a check for over 14,000 pesos to provide ten Sarmiento-Mann Scholarships. Over 60 of these scholarships are being distributed throughout Argentina and are designed to enable excellent students with scarce financial resources to study English. The Ambassador met with Board President Pinedo and the full board of directors to learn about ICANA's 80 year old reputation of excellence in teaching "American" English. Ambassador Wayne toured the facility and explored ways to further strengthen English fluency in Argentina, as well as a number of cultural and social programs in which ICANA acts as a leader.
