STATE OF HOUSTON TRADE MISSION PROMOTES CITY AS TOURISM AND BUSINESS DESTINATION
June 25, 2009

Chargé d’Affaires Thomas Kelly participated on June 25 in a reception hosted by the city of Houston to promote it as a wonderful place to visit and conduct business. Led by Mr. Jorge Franz, Vice President of Tourism, The Greater Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau, a ten-person delegation is visiting Buenos Aires to promote the city as a great travel destination for leisure, business and medical tourism. 

“I am hopeful that more Argentines have the opportunity to visit the city of Houston.  Besides being considered by many as the energy capital of the world, it also has excellent restaurants, theaters and shopping.” -- remarked U.S. Embassy Chargé d' Affaires, Thomas Kelly, during a reception in honor of the City of Houston.

The reception was held at the Park Hyatt- Palacio Duhau and attended by managers and travel managers from the energy and oil sectors, tourism wholesalers, corporate travel agents and trade and consumer media.
