Chargé d’Affaires Thomas Kelly and Representative Kay Granger of Congressional District Number 12 of Texas met with Deputy Foreign Minister Victorio Taccetti at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 31, 2009. During the meeting, Representative Granger described the strong bipartisan support in the U.S. to proceed with initiatives against the drug-trafficking, terrorism and trafficking in persons.

“We are pleased to continue strengthening our bilateral ties with the visit of Representative Granger who comes to the country with a special interest in deepening our cooperation in the fight against drug-trafficking, terrorism and trafficking in persons.” – said Mr. Kelly.

During the two-day visit to Argentina, Representative Granger will be also meeting with Argentine Congress national deputies and separately, with a series of women leaders from government and political sectors to consider the lessons learnt from Argentine and U.S. experiences with the incorporation of women into public office.
