Ambassador Wayne met on March 19 with Congressman Ruperto Godoy, the Chairman of the Foreign Relations and Worship Committee, who will lead a delegation of seven Argentine legislators to Washington DC in May.  Deputy Godoy explained that they would like to work closely with the U.S. Embassy to establish an agenda for the trip to include sharing perspectives on environmental, economic, and security issues.  He added that he hoped the visit would establish stronger relations between the two Congresses and increase the frequency of such trips.

"The global crisis we face requires a joint effort aimed at seeking lasting solutions for our people.  I applaud all initiatives oriented towards that goal, and the ability of Argentine and American legislators to meet to discuss ideas is, undoubtedly, an example of the commitment of our nations to work together," Ambassador Wayne said.
