AMBASSADOR ATTENDS THE OPENING OF THE U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY MEN’S GLEE CLUB CONCERT

Ambassador Wayne attended the opening of the U.S. Naval Academy Men’s Glee Club concert on March 20 at the Iglesia de la Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. This performance followed their successful series of concerts in Santiago, Chile and La Plata, Argentina where they sang beautiful vocals before a packed audience. Through the years, the United States Naval Academy Men’s Glee Club has made hundreds of performances throughout the United States and Europe to include the Vatican, St Paul's Cathedral in London and, most recently, the historic inauguration of President Obama in Washington DC. During his remarks, Ambassador Wayne thanked the 80 member cadets for their excellent performance and acknowledged the importance of this cultural visit and its contribution to the positive relations between the U.S. and Argentina.
"I would like to underscore this type of visits to other countries are highly important for the education of these youngsters. In the last few years, the Naval Academy Choir had the chance of living Argentina's day-to-day life and culture and make everlasting friends. I believe these ties to be valuable and important for the future of our nations."-- said Ambassador Wayne.
