Ambassador Vilma S. Martinez hosted Dr. Roger Glass, Director of the Fogarty International Center and Associate Director for International Research of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and a group of current and former Argentine recipients of research grants from the NIH. 

NIH invests about $8.5 million in Argentina to support research training and collaboration for both young American students and post doctoral fellows in biomedical research working in Argentina, and for Argentines who hold NIH grants or collaborate actively with US grantees. NIH also has 45 Argentine students as postdoctoral trainees.
