Ambassador Wayne with George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic

American musician George Clinton -- one of the greatest innovators of funk, soul and rock music – and several members of his band Parliament Funkadelic visited Ambassador Wayne at his residence on May 21.The Ambassador and the musicians talked with young students from the Satch School of Music located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Flores. During the encounter the students chatted with George about his 40-year music career. Also present at the event were seven members of the band who kindly shared their music background and experiences with the Argentine students.
“Without doubt, this has been a very fruitful experience for these youngsters who have been studying different musical currents for several years.” said Ambassador Wayne.
George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic combine influences from Jimi Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone, Cream, and James Brown, among others. Although they started their careers in the 70’s, their return came out 90’s when many rappers began to name-check George . and sample songs. You're Thinking Right, The Tracey Ullman Show lyrics was written by Clinton and he was also featured in the intro of Snoop Dogg’s album The Blue Carpet Treatment launched in 2007. George has shown remarkable diversity and recently teamed up with Red Hot Chili Peppers and System of a Down.
