EMBASSY OFFICERS ATTEND CHALLENGES OF JOURNALISM IN THE DIGITAL ERA CONGRESS

Public Affairs Officer Robert Howes, Press Attaché Mara Tekach and Information Specialist Patsy Rosker attended the opening of FOPEA (Forum of Argentine Journalism) III National and International Congress “Challenges of Journalism in the Digital Era”, which took place November 21-22, at the Universidad de Palermo.
The FOPEA Congress gathered numerous journalists, academics and media consultants, as well as digital communication experts, to discuss the vertiginous changes in journalism since the arrival of the Internet and new information technologies. Through different presentations, panels and debates, outstanding international guests addressed these challenges. Among the key speakers, was Embassy-sponsored expert Mindy McAdams, Knight Chair of Journalism, University of Florida, web strategist and digital content developer, who lectured on November 22 on “The Multimedia Stage of Journalism: Evolution With Intelligence and Caution.” In her presentation, McAdams urged reporters to use photos, graphics and videos to illustrate their texts, updating their language to address new audiences.
