On Saturday, October 6, Ambassador Wayne presented a donation on behalf of the US Embassy to Fundación Banco de Alimentos (Food Bank) at Carrefour branch on 215 Libertador Avenue 215, Vicente Lopez. A group of boy-scouts (two from the US, one from Canada and two from Argentina) and other volunteers were in charge of receiving the food and distributing it in the area. 19 Carrefour branch offices took part in the Fifth National Food Charity Collection.

Fundacion Banco de Alimentos contributes to feed over 56,000 people every day at several nurturing homes in the city of Buenos Aires and Gran Buenos Aires. The Fundacion Banco de Alimentos team consists of 400 people, out of which only 12 collect a salary or fees. The rest are volunteers who work at the different sections of the institution.
