NINA FEDOROFF, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ADVISOR MEETS WITH MINISTER LINO BARANAO

Dr. Nina Fedoroff, the Science and Technology Advisor to the Secretary of State, met with Science and Technology Minister Lino Baranao on December 4. Dr. Fedoroff was accompanied by James Perez, Science and Technology Counselor of the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires. The Advisor and the Minister discussed ways to build on the already strong scientific cooperation between Argentina and the United States. "I am impressed by Argentina's potential in science and technology," Dr. Fedoroff said to Minister Baranao.
Dr. Fedoroff is on a two-day visit to Buenos Aires where she is also meeting with representatives of CONICET, the Leloir Institute and INTA. Prior to her arrival in Buenos Aires, Dr. Fedoroff gave a lecture at a seminar in Bariloche, where she also visited the Balseiro Institute and INVAP facilities.
