U.S. EMBASSY SENDS ARGENTINE JOURNALISM STUDENTS TO MEDIA CONFERENCE IN QUITO

The U.S. Embassy is sending two Argentine journalism students, one each from masters programs at Di Tella and San Andres universities, to Quito, Ecuador, to participate in a conference on the influence of the media in the information age. Ambassador Gutierrez met with the students, Silvana Avellaneda, of Catamarca, and Ignacio Colo, of Buenos Aires, May 30, on the eve of their departure. Organized for Latin America by the Ecuadorian daily newspaper, El Comercio, and the NGO Auditoria Democratica Andina, the event will be attended by hundreds of youth leaders as well as businessmen, journalists, academics, and public relations professionals.
