U.S. SPECIALIST TALKS ABOUT TRENDS IN CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)

The US Embassy in Buenos Aires hostED a three day speaker program on the topic of “Trends in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).” US Speaker Mr. Phillip Rudolph, Vice President of Ethical Leadership Group, former Vice President and head of McDonald’s Corporation Social Responsibility program, discussed the most recent CSR developments in US, CSR and corporate identity, and how CSR practices benefit workers, shareholders and citizens. Programs were held in Buenos Aires and Córdoba with the Argentine American Dialogue, AMCHAM, University of San Andres, Fundación Global, Young Americas Business Trust, South American Business Forum, Interrupcion and Fundación Geos.

Phillip Rudolph Biography
Phil provides strategic consulting in ethics, compliance and corporate responsibility for major corporations worldwide. He also works closely with non-governmental organizations and socially responsible investor groups in connection with his work for his customers.
Phil provided such services from 2003 through 2005 as a Partner in the DC office of Foley Hoag. Prior to joining Foley Hoag, Phil was a Vice President at McDonald’s Corporation, where he served in several capacities, including those of U.S. and International General Counsel. While with McDonald’s, Phil created, managed and oversaw the company’s vendor compliance program. In addition, Phil served on McDonald’s Social Responsibility Steering Committee, and he assisted in the creation of McDonald’s first Social Responsibility Report in 2002.
In addition to counseling clients, Phil speaks and writes extensively on corporate responsibility issues. He has also participated as a member of the faculty of “Managing Ethics In Organizations,” a biannual, week-long course on business ethics, co-sponsored by the Ethics Officers Association and the Center for Business Ethics at Bentley College.
Before McDonald’s, Phil was a partner in the D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he specialized in antitrust litigation and counseling. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California at Irvine in 1980. In 1983, he received his JD from the University of Chicago Law School.
