AMBASSADOR WAYNE MAKES BOOK DONATION IN MORENO

Ambassador Wayne donated children’s books, a bookshelf, and other educational materials December 21 to “La Casita de Colores,” a home for women and children at risk in the district of Moreno in the western suburbs of Buenos Aires.
The Ambassador met with La Casita’s staff and with the mothers and children currently resident there to discuss the work of the facility. Founded in 1998, the home is supported by the Moreno Archbishopric and the Sisters of Mercy, as well as by private donors, and has the capacity to house between 10-12 mothers and up to 30 of their children.
The visit took place within the framework of the Embassy’s ongoing effort to invest resources in Argentina’s youth and to be actively involved in community development.
