YOUNG ARGENTINE LEADERS TRAVEL TO U.S. TO STUDY U.S. POLITICAL SYSTEM
February 3, 2006

Ambassador Lino Gutierrez met with 16 future Argentine leaders associated with the Fundación Universitaria del Río de la Plata (FURP). This group of young leaders from around Argentina will travel to Austin, Texas, to attend an academic program on the U.S. political system at the University of Texas. This is the 30th consecutive year that the U.S. Government has provided FURP members the opportunity to travel to the U.S. on a study tour. Following their two-week stay in Texas, the group will travel to Washington D.C. and Philadelphia where they will exchange ideas with U.S. Government and other officials. The U.S. Embassy is committed to promoting deeper understanding between the U.S. and Argentina and in investing in Argentina's future by offering young Argentines the opportunity to develop their skills, expand their range of professional contacts, and share their new knowledge and expertise with their fellow countrymen.
