Ambassador Wayne Inaugurates "El Rocio" Soup Kitchen In Pilar

Ambassador Wayne and authorities from Fundación Por Pilar inaugurated on October 20 the Soup Kitchen "El Rocío" in Del Viso, District of Pilar. Thanks to Fundación por Pilar and the Embassy´s staff, we could collect the necessary funds to rebuild the roof of the soup kitchen, which stopped working a year and a half ago.

"It is a great pleasure for me to join this celebration and represent all those Embassy employees who have voluntarily contributed to help reconstruct and reinagurate the soup kitchen. I’m sure parents and neighbors value the joint efforts that are being carried out to offer better life opportunities for these kids" It’s clear from the beautiful folk dancing and the vigorous football practice I saw that the kids of the neighborhood are enjoying the comedor not only as a place to eat but also as a center for good, healthy activities," Ambassador said.

The soup kitchen used to receive approximately 100 children breakfast or an afternoon snack. Though it has resumed its activities only a few weeks ago, kids are already taking folkore classes and practicing football while soon other activities will be added.
